Crew gratuity is customary at 10–20% of the base charter fee, paid directly to the captain at the end of the charter. VAT may apply depending on cruising location — Mediterranean charters often attract 20%+ VAT.

Most 80–120ft motor yachts sleep 8–10 guests in 4–5 cabins. 150–200ft superyachts typically accommodate 10–12 guests in 5–6 cabins. Yachts over 250ft can host 12–14+ guests. Note that maritime regulations limit most chartered yachts to a maximum of 12 guests regardless of size, though some larger yachts are certified for more. Day guests beyond the overnight capacity are generally welcome.
