Luxury Expedition Vessels

The Galápagos is best explored by sea. VIPMAKKI curates access to the finest expedition yachts in the archipelago — vessels that combine five-star hospitality with the rugged capability required for these remote waters. Each yacht in our portfolio carries no more than 20 guests, ensuring an intimate, unhurried experience with a guide-to-guest ratio that is unmatched in the islands.

Panoramic suites open directly onto private balconies. The cuisine is Ecuadorian-meets-international, prepared by chefs who source ingredients from Guayaquil and the highlands. Naturalist guides — the best in the Galápagos — lead twice-daily excursions, interpreting the islands with a depth of knowledge that transforms a wildlife sighting into a profound natural history encounter.

The World's Most ExtraordinaryLiving Laboratory

The Galápagos Islands are home to species found nowhere else on Earth — a living museum of evolutionary science that inspired Darwin and continues to astonish every visitor.

Giant Tortoises

The archipelago's namesake — Galápagos means "tortoise" in Spanish. Visitors can walk among these century-old giants in the highlands of Santa Cruz at the Charles Darwin Research Station and in the wild on Isabela Island. Witnessing a giant tortoise in its natural habitat is one of travel's most humbling experiences.

Marine Life

The Galápagos Marine Reserve is one of the largest and most biodiverse marine protected areas on Earth. Snorkel alongside playful sea lion pups, observe Pacific green turtles grazing on seagrass, and witness hammerhead sharks schooling off Wolf and Darwin Islands. The convergence of warm and cold currents creates an ecosystem of astonishing abundance.

Endemic Birdlife

The Galápagos is home to 56 endemic bird species including the blue-footed booby, flightless cormorant, Galápagos penguin, and waved albatross. The famous Darwin's finches — 13 species that evolved from a single ancestor — provided critical evidence for the theory of natural selection. Every island visit is a masterclass in evolutionary biology.

Itineraries

Island-by-Island,
Expertly Curated

Every VIPMAKKI Galápagos expedition follows a carefully designed itinerary that maximizes wildlife encounters while minimizing travel time. The archipelago spans 138 islands across 45,000 square kilometers of ocean — the order in which you visit them matters enormously.

Our standard expeditions run 5, 7, and 10 nights, with the 7-night itinerary providing the optimal balance of island exposure and species diversity. For the most comprehensive experience, the 10-night itinerary visits the remote western islands of Isabela and Fernandina — the youngest and most volcanically active islands in the archipelago, home to the flightless cormorant and the largest marine iguana colonies on Earth.

5-Night Expedition Essential

Santa Cruz, Española, and Floreana. Giant tortoises, waved albatross, and the iconic Pinnacle Rock.

7-Night Expedition Recommended

Adds Genovesa (bird island), Santiago, and Bartolomé. The definitive Galápagos experience.

10-Night Expedition Ultimate

Includes the remote west: Isabela, Fernandina, and the penguin colonies. For the true naturalist.
